I have taken this idea from John Kremer who borrowed it from someone else. The general idea is that, if you have a platform, people regularly contact you to ask which programs you recommend. I get this quite a bit around a few college-related topics. Perhaps a dozen emails a day specifically asking questions (as opposed to other types of email).
For those of us trying to make a living, it is a wonderful thing when the programs that you would recommend also happen to be members of Commission Junction or another affiliate program. No, it is not something that I will spend a lot of time promoting. It will be a link on my website and blog and I will occasionally refer folks to it. I think with this you have to be really careful that you do not recommend programs that you do not know anything about. Do your due diligence!
The one difference that I used from others was utilizing a free Blogger blog website. In other words, it is costing me nothing to promote this. If it goes nowhere, it will have cost me nothing. However, if it works out, it's all profit, baby!
Passive income. It's a lovely thing.
