If I had a dollar for every in-person or email question concerning free online high schools, I would be a rich man. A very rich man.
Yes, they do exist. Yes, they are very restrictive in who they accept. The general rules relate to:
- age
- geography
- attendance in other schools
Generally, you cannot be older than eighteen, but there are exceptions. Generally, you need to live in a certain geographical area (a certain state or county or region). Some require that you be attending a traditional high school as well while others specifically forbid it.
In response to all of these questions, I have started to blog about all of the free online high school options available in the various states. If you go there today, there are only a couple of posts, but over the next few weeks, there will be many more. Worth a look.
