Jan Nathan passes away, but her work lives on
Jan Nathan, executive director of PMA, passed away on Sunday, June 17, 2007 after a prolonged battle with cancer. In my dealings with her over the last couple of years, Jan was professional and kind. One could not ask for more than that.
The one thing that I remember is her graciousness in giving an interview for what was then a very new SmallPress Blog. If you were also touched by Jan, I would encourage you to wander over to the memorial site that has been put up by PMA.
Dear Tom--thank you for your kind words about Jan Nathan. She was a remarkable woman and visionary leader whose contribution to publishing was immeasurable. Members of PMA, the Independent Book Publishers Association and all those in the industry whose lives she touched will miss her. I join you in encouraging your readers to visit the memorial site mentioned in your blog to record their thoughts and memories of Jan.
Sincerely,
Florrie Binford Kichler, President, PMA, the Independent Book Publishers Association
