The first Degree Press book, Complete Guide to Online High Schools: Distance learning options for teens & adults, is now in the hands of Lightning Source, our printer. In addition to our proof ($30), I have also purchased 52 copies of the book ($198.61). While that number may seem odd, that happens to be a case of books (52 books x 152 pages each).
One rather significant pricing advantage was a promotional special going on right now where I did not have to pay for setting up the book to be printed. That's a nice chunk of change that I did not have to pay. By the way, the code to take advantage of the special is 4FREE50. The only requirement was that I purchase fifty copies of the book (hence the number from above).
Many of those 52 books will be part of my marketing efforts although I will be selling some of them. The greater part of my efforts will be in driving traffic to Amazon. As I have mentioned, the bulk of my time will be spent in marketing and not in putting books into boxes.
By the way, the second Degree Press book will be out very soon. It is a directory of online high schools. It's already written. In point of fact, it is the directory information from our first book. Dan Poynter talks about using your book in many different and creative ways. This is one of them.
There will also be e-book versions of both of the books. In other words, four books for sale based on the work for one.
